Natural Hair Remedies: Herbs For Hair Growth
Natural hair remedies can be effective as an herb for hair regrowth. Many times you might get away with a topical applicaion, but sometimes oral supplementation is best.
While normal daily hair loss is 50-100 hairs, there are a few medical conditions that can cause hair loss. If you have any of these it really is best to have the condition treated and then the hair most likely
will grow back on its own.
Conditions causing hair loss include:
- Thyroid hair loss (hypothyroid)
- Certain medications such as Depakote, propranalol and Depo-Provera
- Spirolactone hair loss
- Lupus
- Diabetes
- Chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy
- Hair loss post pregnancy
- 3-4 months after a major illness or infection (stress on the body)
- 3-4 months after surgery (gastric bypass)
- Fungal or bacterial infections of the scalp (also candida hair loss)
- Prolonged unrelieved stress hair loss
- Genetics, both in women and men
- Certain hairstyles and/or treatments
Believe it or not, the way you treat your hair can worsen or cause hair loss. Hot oil treatments can scar hair follicles and the hair falls out. The same goes for some types
of permanents and especially true for excessive braiding of the hair. Cornrows pull on the scalp and if done for a long time will also cause scalp scarring and hair follicle death.
If the mechanical methods mentioned are stopped before scarring occurs, most likely the hair will grow back.
